They don't unsnap easily the direction you'd pull while in bed, but they do when you're pulling the snaps directly apart for washing purposes. In technical speak, we've selected YKK ADVANCEN snaps that can withstand incredible shear (parallel) force yet will separate quite easily with tensile (direct pulling) force. These ADVANCEN snaps are often used on outerwear which requires them to undergo extreme conditions. Definitely overkill for our application, but we only use the best.

To take full advantage of the Align™ snap system, you should use both our cover and insert. However, we've added corner ties on covers and corner loops on inserts to accommodate other (outdated) bedding systems.
